When Mus found out she was pregnant, despite the close relationship with her employer, she was still fearful to let them know she was expecting a baby. She struggled with conflicting feelings throughout her entire pregnancy – feeling scared to lose her job which might affect the wonderful relationship she shared with her supportive employer when they found out she was pregnant. She also could not bear to bring herself to leave the family she had grown to be extremely fond of.

Our Case Manager was able to support her and her employer’s family once Afiatul was born, particularly by giving them sound information so both parties could make informed decisions – in the best interest of Afiatul.

Afiatul is now living happily in HK together with the employer’s family – well loved and cared for by Mus and the employer’s entire family – as Mus takes time to think through her next steps. It truly takes a village to raise a child!
